Skaftafell: Blue Ice Maze & Glacier Crevasse Tour
Choose your experience
The Skaftafell Blue Ice Maze and Glacier Crevasse Tour is a guided glacier excursion departing from the Skaftafell area of Vatnajokull National Park in southern Iceland, roughly a four-hour drive from Reykjavik. Vatnajokull is Europe's largest glacier by volume, and the tour takes visitors into the blue ice formations and crevasse systems that form within its outlet glaciers.
Guides lead small groups across the glacier surface, through narrow ice corridors and into crevasse passages where compressed glacial ice produces the deep blue colouration characteristic of the area. Participants are equipped with crampons and helmets for the duration. Tickets cover guiding, safety equipment hire, and the glacier walk itself.
