Entry tickets and audio tour of Akrotiri give access to one of the best-preserved prehistoric settlements in the Aegean. The site, located in the south of Santorini, was buried by a volcanic eruption around 1627 BC and excavated from the 1960s onwards by archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos. The protective roof structure allows visitors to walk through multi-storey buildings, paved streets, and drainage systems that date to the late Bronze Age.
