This day tour from Tokyo covers the Nikko World Heritage area, a mountainous region roughly 140 kilometres north of the capital that holds some of Japan's most significant Edo-period architecture. The centrepiece is Tōshōgū Shrine, the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu completed in 1617, known for its elaborately carved Yōmeimon Gate and the carved sleeping cat, Nemuri-neko. The site as a whole was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.

Beyond the shrine complex, the tour includes Lake Chūzenji, a caldera lake sitting at around 1,270 metres elevation, and Kegon Falls, which drops approximately 97 metres and ranks among Japan's three great waterfalls. Tickets cover guided commentary throughout, return transport from Tokyo, and entrance to the listed sites. Check the schedule for seasonal availability, as autumn foliage and winter snow conditions affect access to certain areas.
