Celebrity Autobiography is the 90-minute hit comedy in which a rotating cast of well-known names from television, film, stage, sport and politics read aloud from other celebrities' real autobiographies, live at the Shubert Theatre. The unintentionally hilarious results have made it an international success and a New York Times Critic's Pick.
Alongside solo readings, the show stitches passages from different memoirs into ensemble mash-ups, ping-ponging into he-said, she-said scenes, famous love triangles and wildly different accounts of the same event. The cast changes constantly, most performers appearing for a week or two and surprise guests dropping in, so no two nights are the same.
Expect a fast, roughly 90-minute comedy built entirely from real published words, performed by a line-up that shifts from show to show. The production has had sold-out runs from New York to London's West End, Edinburgh and the Sydney Opera House, and this is its Broadway debut. It won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
