Stewart Island Wild Kiwi Encounter
体験を選択
The Stewart Island Wild Kiwi Encounter is a guided night tour operating from Stewart Island, off the southern tip of New Zealand's South Island, giving visitors a chance to observe wild kiwi in their natural coastal habitat. Stewart Island, known locally as Rakiura, holds one of the highest densities of wild kiwi in the country, with the southern tokoeka subspecies active after dark along its beaches and forest margins.
Guides lead small groups after sunset to known foraging areas, where kiwi are regularly spotted probing the sand for invertebrates. No flash photography is permitted, keeping disturbance minimal. Tickets cover the guided walk, specialist equipment, and transport to the search area. For more activities in the region, see things to do in Invercargill.
