Tickets to Zoo Leipzig grant entry to one of Germany's oldest zoological gardens, founded in 1878 and home to more than 850 species across a site covering around 26 hectares in the city of Leipzig. The zoo is particularly noted for Gondwanaland, a large tropical hall housing rainforest animals and plants under a glass dome, and for its long-standing elephant and big cat facilities.
